need.

From 1999 to 2001 the United States Office of Public Health complied a report to define needs of the Native Indian Tribes. This report titled "Quantifying the Un-met Need in IHS/Tribal EMS" has repeated quotes such as, "The IHS EMS Branch should work with Area Offices, Service Units, and Tribes to explore other cost effective methods for innovative purchase or lease of ground and air ambulance resources (Office of Public Health, 2001, p.58)."

In addition, formal dialogue with the various Tribes in the Northern California area has indicated support for the proposed services that will be provided through the formation ot the Tribal Air Consortium.

service.

  • To facilitate health/wellness training or seminars by providing air transportation and coordination for the AI/NA medical staff and their general public.
  • Provide support and facilitate non-emergency air medical transport to the providers located in the region.
  • Provide tribal members with air transport services for specialty events.
  • Provide aviation-training opportunities.
  • Provide tribal members with non-emergency air medical transportation.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality control and post-customer support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct ongoing investigations into developing needs of the Northern California Native American population.

With the development of this service we create an environment to not only assist in meeting the identified needs but create a vehicle to vreate related aviation services that can provide on-going financial self sustainablity for the defined initiatives.
